We’re kicking it off with volleyball, followed by tailgating, and ending with the football game under the lights! Come out, show your Eagle pride, and cheer on our amazing students. We can't wait to see everyone there!

Big thanks to LCRA (Elizabeth Ehlers) and Bluebonnet Electric (Jo Anna Gilland) for stopping by to deliver Luling Eagle rally towels! 💚
Your support means so much to our students and staff. We were also thrilled to have Mayor Watts and City Manager McLaughlin join us—what an amazing show of community partnership!

Breakfast and lunch in the cafeteria = the fuel you need to power through the school day.
Skip the growling stomach—grab a tray, grab a seat, and let’s eat!

Shanklin will celebrate Grandparents with an invitation to join us for breakfast!
Grandparents of students whose last names begin with A - L are invited to eat with their students during breakfast on Wednesday, September 3rd.
Grandparents of students whose last names begin with M - Z are invited to eat with their students on Thursday, September 4th.

Tomorrow is Shanklin's College Colors Day—time to Rep Your College Pride! Wear your favorite college colors and show off your school spirit. This celebration is a fun way to spark conversations about future goals and inspire students to start thinking about their own college and career dreams.

The cafeteria’s got you covered, so don’t skip the most important meals of the day.

We’re excited to announce a brand-new way to get help with Rooms, our district communication platform!
Guardians can now email Rooms.Support@luling.txed.net to connect directly with our Tech Department for support. Whether you’re having trouble logging in, finding messages, or setting up notifications—we’re here to make it easy.
Because when it comes to staying connected with your child’s school, Zero Quit means Zero Confusion.

It's our House Color Day at Shanklin Elementary! Everyone has been sorted. Every Wednesday, students and staff show off their "house color" by wearing their house shirt. Have you ordered your "House Shirt" yet?
Amistad-RED, Reveur-BLUE, Protos-TEAL, Isibindi-GREEN, Nukumori-PURPLE, Alturismo-BLACK

The first day of the 2025–26 school year is officially in the books, and what a day it was! From the very first smiles this morning to the last wave goodbye this afternoon, our Eagles showed up ready to Raise the Bar and Own the Results. 💚
Thank you to our amazing students and staff for making day one such a success—we can’t wait to see what the rest of the year holds!

Not every member could be there in person today, but each one wanted to—and that’s just one more reason we say it proudly: we have the BEST school board!

Shanklin Elementary School Drop Off and Dismissal
To ensure safety of our students and staff, only students will be allowed into the building. Parents will not be allowed to walk students to class. If you were not able to drop off school supplies during Meet the Teacher Night and your child is too small to carry all of them to class, you may drop the supplies off in the front office. Make sure supplies have your child’s name and grade level on them to ensure we deliver them to the correct classroom. Please help make the day and dismissal go as smoothly as possible by doing the following:
Place a tag on your child’s backpack with their NAME and GRADE LEVEL.
Make sure that your child’s teacher knows how they will be going home the first day and every day thereafter.
Be patient during car rider dismissal. We will verify car tags with students ensuring that every child gets home safely. Have your car tag and ID ready.
PK – 2nd grade morning drop-off and afternoon pickup are on the side of Shanklin, off Hackberry.
3rd – 5th grade morning drop-off and afternoon pickup are off Houston through the big circle drive. Do not drop off or pick up students on the bus side.
